Political system why do not work?

There are times when a particular political system fails it's citizens and now , in the U.S during this time, our system is failing us. There is an unprecedented flow of money that is going to the top 5% of the population- while the economy is headed south for the middle cl and the poor, the rich and the global corporations are making out like bandits. Our political system is geared to favor the rich and the businessess and not the average working citizen. The gap between the rich and the poor is the highest in the history of our nation. If you took out the earnings of the billionaires and the millionaires out of the equation, the average wage earner would qualify for welfare, if you figured in the rise of inflation. We need to change the two party system in our country, to a three party system , with the third party representing the working cl citizens in this country.
