Left Sharp Pain in my Ovaries?

I am nearly 50! Ouch, when I was 39 I was pre-menopause. I have missed two periods and all of the sudden about 8 weeks ago, I started getting sharp pains in my left ovary. Reading all this stuff on the internet freaks me out. Seams like a lot of woment get sharp pains in the left ovary, what the heck is it!
